Dating a celebrity is never easy but when you are dating one of the most famous people in the world, it gets even harder. Recently on Shaq’s podcast, “The Big Podcast”, Jason Kelce revealed something shocking to the host.
The older Kelce said that his brother Travis Kelce had to move from his new home because of Taylor Swift fans, known as Swifites.
“The first day he moved into the new house…a gated community, someone knocks on a window of the house,” he shared.
Oh, but that was only the beginning. It gets worse according to the NFL star.
“People were just staying by his house,” he said. He added that eventually, his brother “had to completely move out of his house,” seemingly due to intrusions from fans.
Kelce admitted that although he and his brother have always had fans, it has grown to another level since the younger Kelce started dating Swift.
“The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that’s a whole different level. It’s a new demographic that wasn’t there before,” according to Kelce.
Since the pair started dating, there has been a media frenzy surrounding their relationship especially when Swift started to attend Kansas City Chiefs games.
The attention from fans and media has only increased in the past few months but despite all of that, it doesn’t appear, at least for now, that it has affected the pair’s relationship.
Time will only tell, however, if the constant attention will affect their relationship down the line.
Several of Swift’s exes, whom she has written songs about over the years, have talked about what it is like dating a megastar like her and most say it wasn’t exactly a pleasant experience.
Some couldn’t handle or like the spotlight that dating someone as famous as she brought to them. One of her exes, record producer Calvin Harris, talked about how hard it was for him.
“It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly. The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I’m not good at being a celebrity.”
Swift has been very private in most of her relationships but it wasn’t until she started dating Kelce that the relationship became more public and he seemed to handle it better than some of her exes.
Another ex who spoke on their relationship is British actor Tom Hiddleston. Hiddleston, who played country star Hank Williams in a biopic a few years ago and was part of the Marvel Universe as “Loki” spoke on an incident that took place while dating Swift.
“So we decided to go out for dinner, we decided to travel […] A relationship in the limelight … A relationship always takes work. A relationship in the limelight takes work. And it’s not just the limelight. It’s everything else.”
Both Harris and Hiddleston have since moved on to other relationships since breaking up with Swift, but it’s quite apparent that if you date Taylor Swift, you are also dating her fans and the media as well.
