As the Washington Commanders continue to look for a buyer, it has recently become clear that Commanders team owner Dan Snyder will not sell the team to billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, even though he has not received an offer large enough from anyone else.

But even though Dan Snyder has made some moves that seem to be preventing Jeff Bezos from purchasing the game – like preventing him from attending a private auction last week – A.J. Perez of Front Office Sports reports that Bezos is still in the mix to buy the Commanders.

Not only that, but they also report that Snyder’s apparent attempt to bar Bezos from bidding on the team is actually just a ploy to get Bezos to pay more.

“Bezos, however, remains in the mix for the Commanders, two sources with knowledge of the situation told Front Office Sports. One of those sources said that news that Snyder wouldn’t sell to Bezos amounts to a ploy to get a high bid out of the Amazon founder,” A.J. Perez of Front Office Sports wrote on Monday morning.

It’s certainly a wild update to the situation. We’ll have to see if Bezos ultimately does end up purchasing the franchise and what he pays if he does.
