The NFL season already expanded from a 16-game regular season last year, moving to a 17-game regular season. But Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones wants to see the regular season expand by one more game.

In an interview on the K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan on Friday afternoon, Jerry Jones revealed that he would like to see the NFL add one more game to the regular season, and reduce the preseason by one game in the future.

“One more I see, and I’m a big proponent of it,” Jones said during the radio appearance, according to Pro Football Talk. “I think that’s the right level. That allows us to, as we go into the early games of the season, that allows us to have those games. You will get better if you play those games because you will play less preseason games. You know at one time they played six preseason games in the NFL for you history buffs. But still I like to play two or three preseason games and 18 regular season games and have been a proponent of that.”

It would certainly be a massive change in the NFL. But the move to 17 games felt was well received across the league, so perhaps the move to 18 would be equally well received.
