Many fans have placed some very high expectations on the New York Jets, calling them a clear Super Bowl contender. Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t shy away from the lofty expectations, saying that the Jets are ‘in the mix’ for the Lombardi Trophy.

Rodgers joins a list of talented and young players on both sides of the ball, including 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, and 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year in Sauce Gardner.

Rodgers knows what it takes to win a Super Bowl, doing so in 2011 with the Green Bay Packers. And he sees the potential to do so again with the Jets.

“There’s a part of that is speaking things into existence, the idea of a manifestation,” Rodgers told Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports. “The other part is a realistic look at the locker room knowing that there’s anywhere from 6 to 12 teams every year that can probably do it and we’re one of those 6 to 12.”

It may be a bit bold of Rodgers to say that 12 teams are capable of winning the Super Bowl in any year. But it is at least reassuring to Jets fans that he has total belief in his team.

The Jets will face off against a team that most fans believe is one of those fellow Super Bowl-contending teams on Monday night when they take on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
