The New York Jets receiving options outside of Garrett Wilson left a lot to be desired last season, which certainly played a role in their offensive struggles as a team. But on Tuesday, they added a big-name wideout that should be an exciting new option for Aaron Rodgers to throw to.

Former Los Angeles Chargers star Mike Williams found himself as a cap casualty this offseason, released by the Chargers in order for the team to save $20 million in cap space.

His career with the Chargers was filled with huge flashes up upside, but issues staying on the field. This past season, Williams played in just three games before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

He will now have a change of scenery alongside a quarterback also looking to bounce back strong from a season-ending injury before his season really got started. On Tuesday, the Jets agreed to terms with Williams on a one-year $15 million deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The duo of Williams and Wilson could certainly be a dangerous one next season. And it seems like Jets fans are certainly pleased with the move.

The Jets of course failed to meet expectations last season after most had them as true Super Bowl contenders in the AFC. But on paper, they could have an even better roster this year than last.

If Aaron Rodgers is still the elite-level talent that he has been coming off his torn Achilles injury, the Jets could be the team that most expected last year and make a deep run throughout the AFC conference.
