Things did not work out between the San Francisco 49ers and head coach Jim Harbaugh during his four-year stint with the team even though Harbaugh led the team to the conference title game three times and the Super Bowl once. But it sounds like Niners CEO Jed York is still expecting big things from Harbaugh in his return to the NFL.

During a recent interview with Tim Kawakami of The Athletic on “The TK Show,” York offered his reaction to Harbaugh’s return to the NFL, saying that he thinks Harbaugh will be “very, very successful” with the Los Angeles Chargers.

“I congratulated them when they [Michigan] won the championship game,” York told Tim Kawakami according to Joel Soria of NBC Sports Bay Area. “ We’ve texted back and forth. I think Jim is a hell of a coach. I think it’s a great spot for him. I’m excited for the Chargers. I think they will be very, very successful.”

Of course, Harbaugh had a lot of success since leaving the Niners leading the Michigan Wolverines to their first-ever College Football Playoff national championship this year. We’ll have to see if he can now win a Lombardi Trophy with the Los Angeles Chargers.
