Joe Burrow looked like himself again on Sunday. The Cincinnati Bengals earned a massive win over the Arizona Cardinals in the desert. Cincinnati was aided by the play of Burrow and stud receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who broke out in a big way. Chase, who had openly lamented his lack of receptions this year, more than made up for it this week. He broke a single-game Bengals record with 15 receptions, one of which was on a beautiful ball by his longtime teammate.

Burrow connected on a rainbow throw to Chase for a touchdown against the Cardinals. That throw from Burrow set a new mark for the accomplished quarterback. The former top overall pick threw the longest throw of his entire career by air distance. According to Next Gen Stats, the throw from Burrow’s hand to Chase’s hands went a whopping 58.1 yards.

“Joe Burrow’s 63-yard TD to Ja’Marr Chase traveled 58.1 yards in the air, Burrow’s longest completion by air distance of his career. Chase reached a top speed of 21.54 mph, the 6th-fastest speed by a ball carrier this season & 2nd-fastest of his career,” Next Gen Stats posted.

Burrow and Chase’s prolific performances came at a crucial time for the Bengals. Cincy entered play 1-3 and wanted to avoid 1-4 at all costs. While 2-3 still sits them at the bottom of the AFC North, it could be much worse. Cincy is 0-2 in divisional games, which does arguably put them in a bigger hole. But victories are victories.

The NFL world had plenty to say about Joe Burrow and his absurd throw.
