When the Cincinnati Bengals brought in Orlando Brown Jr. to become the team’s left tackle with plans to move former left tackle Jonah Williams to right tackle, Williams initially was not happy about the move and requested a trade from the team as a result. But after a few months, Williams is still with the team and will presumably be the team’s starting right tackle this season, and star quarterback Joe Burrow expects the offseason drama to affect his teammates’ play.
During an interview last week, Joe Burrow made it clear that he is happy to have Jonah Williams back and is expecting big things from him on Sundays this season.
“Whenever guys have business going on it’s always nice to get them back around the guys and see their face,” Burrow said last week according to James Rapien of SI.com. “We all know how hard Jonah works, the work he puts in to put his best foot forward on Sundays. I don’t think that will affect his play at all.”
If Williams can successfully make the switch to right tackle, that would be very good news for Burrow and the Bengals after the team has struggled to assemble a competent offensive line over the years.
