The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a third Super Bowl victory in five seasons improving an absolutely insane run through the postseason for the team under star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. With the win, Mahomes improved upon his already insane record as a starter in the postseason, but it also came with a reminder that there is only one active quarterback who has beaten him in the playoffs: Joe Burrow. And he’s in pretty rare company, as well.

As NFL analyst Albert Breer pointed out on social media, Joe Burrow joins Tom Brady as the only two quarterbacks ever to beat Patrick Mahomes in the postseason.

“Patrick Mahomes is now 15-3 in playoff games. Over his six years as the Chiefs starter, only two quarterbacks have beaten him in a postseason game: Tom Brady and Joe Burrow,” Breer said in a post on X, the social media that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this is pretty insane news about Joe Burrow as he’s the only active quarterback to ever beat Mahomes in the playoffs, joining only Tom Brady in that regard, who is widely considered the greatest quarterback of all time.

This led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see if Burrow has the chance to do it again next season when he recovers from his wrist injury.
