The New York Jets could have signed veteran quarterback Joe Flacco following the season-ending Achilles injury to Aaron Rodgers back in September, especially after he spent time with the team in 2021 and 2022. They ultimately chose not to, and Flacco, who is now on the verge of leading the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs, does not seem too upset by their decision.

Joe Flacco and the Cleveland Browns will take on the New York Jets on Thursday night with a chance to clinch a spot in the playoffs with a victory. But Flacco isn’t making it personal, even though the team chose not to sign him.

“I enjoyed my time while I was there, and it is what it is,” said Flacco, who spent parts of three seasons with the Jets. “I’m happy to be where I am, that’s for sure.”

Flacco made it clear that this week’s game will be just another game against just another team.

“There’s 32 teams in the NFL. They’re just another one,” Flacco said. “I got a lot of guys over there I really respect and had an awesome few years in that locker room. So a lot of respect for those guys.”

We’ll have to see how Flacco performs this week.
