Earlier this week, Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison – the No. 23 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft – got into some legal trouble when he was cited for reckless driving in Minnesota on Thursday in the early morning. And now, he’s addressing the situation.
On Saturday morning, Jordan Addison released a statement in which he apologized for his mistake and poor decision-making that put people in danger.
“Yesterday morning I made a mistake and used poor judgment. I recognize and own that. I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry,” Addison said in the statement according to Pro Football Talk.
Police said that Addison was stopped on I-94 after he was clocked going 140 miles per hour in his car while the speed limit was just 55 miles per hour. According to Pro Football Talk, the citation listed both speeding and reckless driving.
Back in 2021, Addison won the Biletnikoff Award as the best wide receiver in college football while with the Pitt Panthers. He transferred to play for the USC Trojans for the 2022 season where his production dipped slightly.
However, he was still widely regarded as one of the top receivers in college football and was a first-round pick in the draft as a result.
