The NFL world is buzzing over news about former head coach Josh McDaniels. The disgraced McDaniels, who’s had two miserable head coaching stints, is as unpopular as you might imagine he is. Not just around fans, but around the players as well.

An NFLPA survey was released on Wednesday, prompting wide-ranging discussion. Among the topics discussed was the fact that the players got to grade head coaches and owners for the very first time. The players made their voices quite clear. They do not favor McDaniels at all.

The survey revealed that players graded Josh McDaniels 32nd out of 32 NFL head coaches. So dead last!

“HC/owners graded for the 1st time. Andy Reid was first, Josh McDaniels was 32nd among HCs,” Albert Breer wrote. Breer brought the survey to light on Wednesday on X, the popular website formerly known as Twitter.

Ouch. It’s safe to say that absence won’t make the heart grow fonder for Josh McDaniels. Not after those results, that’s for sure.

In 2009, the Denver Broncos hired Josh McDaniels from the New England Patriots. McDaniels had been behind a record-setting offense in New England in 2007. But McDaniels failed to take the Broncos to the next level. His tenure ended after two disappointing seasons. A decade later, the Raiders hired McDaniels to lead the team after they fired disgraced head coach Jon Gruden.

But the run obviously didn’t go well there either. And players seemed to agree wholeheartedly.

The NFL world reacted to the news.
