Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has largely dominated the NFL since his debut in entering the league in 2017, racking up a number of awards in the process. He received another notable award on Wednesday, and the NFL world took notice.

The 2023 ESPYS are set to take place on Wednesday night, where the best athletes in the world receive praise and awards for their accomplishments and highlights.

One of the awards given out was leaked before the ESPYS took place, revealing that Mahomes has won the 2023 ESPY for Best NFL Player, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

It isn’t exactly a shocking announcement considering he is coming off his second Super Bowl Championship victory, and his second regular season MVP award. He has also already received the award once back in 2019.

Regardless, fans took notice of the news and believe that he is absolutely deserving of the accolade.

Some were disappointed that this news emerged before the ESPYS actually took place, as it does take away from the suspense of those watching in real-time.

However, this may not be the only award coming for Mahomes at the ESPYS on Wednesday night. He is also a finalist to receive the award for Male Athlete of the Year award.
