It’s safe to say that this season has not exactly gone according to plan for the Minnesota Vikings as the team has just a 1-4 record through the first five games of the season. And with things now getting even worse for the team, many are speculating that the team could and should be looking to trade quarterback Kirk Cousins.

On Tuesday morning, league insider Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported that Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson was going to be placed on the injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury during this weekend’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

“The #Vikings plan to place WR Justin Jefferson on injured reserve because of the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Kansas City, per sources. The exact timeline is TBD based on how he responds to treatment. But Jefferson is out at least four games,” Pelissero said in a post on X, the social media website that is formerly known as Twitter.

Given that the Vikings have one of the worst records in the entire league even with Jefferson, the injury to the star wide receiver has many speculating that the team should trade Cousins and fully embrace tanking this season.

We’ll have to see whether or not the team does decide to deal Cousins.
