So far this season, Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson has led his team to the top overall record in the AFC and has the Baltimore Ravens looking like one of the most dominant teams in the entire league. As a result, he’s asserted himself into the MVP discussion.

While Jackson is undoubtedly honored to be in the MVP discussion this late in the season, he made it very clear that while it would be nice to win the MVP Award this season, he has his sights set on a different trophy: the Lombardi Trophy.

“It’s an honor just being acknowledged — to be [in the] conversation with great guys,” Jackson said according to the Baltimore Ravens team website. “But I’m just trying to stay locked in trying to win, because I want another trophy.”

Obviously, there is a chance that Jackson could accomplish both feats as he is one of the most dominant players in the league this season and the Ravens are among the NFL’s top Super Bowl contenders late in the season. But if he had to choose one, it’s clear that Jackson would much prefer to win a Super Bowl championship rather than the MVP.
