Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are going through unprecedented struggles. Literally.

The Ravens trail the Kansas City Chiefs 17-7 in the second half of the AFC Championship Game. Baltimore’s 10-point deficit might not sound daunting, but the Ravens haven’t been used to this.

According to Benjamin Solak, this is uncharted water for Baltimore. The Ravens haven’t been down ten points with Lamar under center since December 2021.

“The Ravens are down 10 points. The last snap Lamar Jackson took down at least 10 points was on December 12th, 2021,” Solak posted. Solak made the post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

The Ravens have certainly built up a strong defense once again, so it’s not surprising, in that sense, that they haven’t trailed by that much that often. But still, when it’s written out like that, it seems absurd.

Jackson and Baltimore haven’t been able to get in sync. The offense has been stymied heavily by the Chiefs’ defense and a poor game plan, which might also help explain their unprecedented deficit.

Nevertheless, it’s not over until it’s over. So we’ll see how Baltimore can respond. The Ravens were the top seed in the AFC and have a lot going for them. It would be a disappointment to see it all go up in smoke in that fashion.

The NFL world had plenty to say.
