For much of the offseason, it looked like Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson had no future with the team as he requested a trade after years of failed contract negotiations. But the two sides worked out a deal to keep him in Baltimore, and it sounds like he’s never been happier.

The Ravens hired offensive coordinator Todd Monken this offseason to revamp the team’s offense, and it sounds like Lamar Jackson is quite happy with the changes and his relationship with his new coordinator.

“It’s great,” Jackson said during the broadcast of Saturday night’s preseason game according to Pro Football Talk. “I’ve been sending him plays of stuff I’ve been seeing, and he’s been putting them in practice, and they’re working. So it’s like, I’m glad he’s listening to me, man.”

Jackson raved not only about the changes Monken has made to the offense, but the way he communicates with his players.

“The meeting room — I wish you guys could see the meeting rooms,” Jackson said. “He’s full of expressing what he’s got going on in his mind. His mind is everywhere. It’s like, ‘I love you as a coach right now.’ You know, I’m grateful for him.”

We’ll have to see how the new-look Ravens offense looks this year.
