As Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens prepare for a showdown with the Miami Dolphins this weekend, it’s clear that Jackson has a lot of respect for Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
During a press conference this week, Lamar Jackson said that he has been a fan of Tua Tagovailoa’s game ever since Tagovailoa was in college with the Alabama Crimson Tide, revealing that he even voted for him to win the Heisman Trophy.
“Tua’s a phenomenal player,” Jackson said according to the Baltimore Ravens team website. “I don’t know if Alabama was playing Georgia in the national championship game when I think they took one quarterback out and put him in. Tua threw the game-winning touchdown. After that, I was like, ‘He’s amazing.’ I just fell in love with his game then and his poise.
“I believed he was going to win the Heisman [Trophy] one year. I messaged him, and I was like, ‘You need to win a Heisman. I voted for you.'”
Now in the NFL, Jackson is still impressed with the way he plays the game.
“His game is great,” Jackson said. “He’s a phenomenal quarterback. He just has to keep doing what he’s doing – just not this week.”
