This week, New England Patriots star quarterback Mac Jones has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons after he was accused of hitting New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner in the “private parts” during a game, and it’s led to a discussion about Jones as a potentially dirty player.

Sauce Gardner claims that Mac Jones hit him between the legs after the cornerback helped Jones to his feet following a play on Sunday. This certainly isn’t the only time Jones has been the subject of an accusation like this as he has developed a bit of a reputation around the league as a dirty player. But he doesn’t seem too worried about those claims.

“Like I said, I can’t control that stuff,” Jones said according to Pro Football Talk. “I try to be really competitive and go out there and be a good teammate and compete, and come to work every day and work hard and put a lot of hours into it. I definitely care about football a lot and this game means a lot to me and it means a lot to a lot of other guys that I play with so I hope that they can see that.”

Jones was fined for a low hit on then-Bengals cornerback Eli Apple last year. We’ll have to see if Jones faces any discipline for this incident.
