The Kansas City Chiefs are planning to play wide receiver Mecole Hardman after coming off of a six-game suspension where he violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Head coach Andy Reid appears to be looking forward to the return. He said on Saturday Hardman did a “nice job” at practice this week and appears to have him returning with Charles Omenihu who also returns from a six-week suspension.
Hardman comes back to the Chiefs in the Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. He said he looks forward to contributing in any way he can.
“Hopefully I can get into a role where I can help out the team any way I can honestly,” Hardman told KC Sports Network. “There’s not much I’m not trying to do, wherever they need me at, whether that’s return, whether that’s as a receiver, (if) they need me to go on kickoff, let me know. I’m just here to help the best I can.”
Last season, Hardman, who was traded from the New York Jets just this week, spent a part of the 2022 season in the hospital with an abdominal injury which caused him to lose feeling in his legs for a few days. He was taken to the emergency room and had a hospital stay.
It caused him to miss the final nine games of the regular season and the postseason matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
