The Miami Dolphins will be without star cornerback Jalen Ramsey for the beginning of the upcoming 2023-24 season after suffering a torn meniscus earlier this week. And the Dolphins have already brought in some depth at the position in his absence.

Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple had still not signed with a team in free agency. That is before the Dolphins made a big move for him on Saturday.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Dolphins and Apple have agreed to a one-year deal.

Apple carved out a solid role on some pretty good Bengals teams in recent years, starting 15 games for them in each of the past two seasons.

He will bring some valuable postseason experience to a team that could now use it with Ramsey likely sidelined for at least half of the upcoming season.

This signing is particularly interesting because Apple will now face off against star wide receiver Tyreek Hill in practice every day. Hill, of course, hasn’t exactly been Apple’s biggest fan over the years…

“Looking forward to the challenge, it is going to be fun,” said Hill on a matchup against the Bengals and Apple last season. “I can’t wait to go up against Eli Apple man. I own you boy.”

Hopefully these two can put their differences aside as teammates now and co-exist to help the Dolphins be as successful as possible next season.
