As the New Orleans Saints are getting ready for Week 10’s game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, they are also obtaining information about an incident involving one of their top players.

The Comeback confirmed with Kenner PD that receiver Michael Thomas was booked on Friday night. Kenner is an incorporated suburban city of New Orleans.

The team acknowledged an incident involving Thomas on Friday night, but was vague on specifics.

“We [are] aware of the incident and are gathering information,” the team said in a statement, per Nick Underhill, NOF Network.

Unherhill later reported that he was “Still gathering information, but I’m told crux of the issue leading to Mike Thomas’ arrest was that he slapped a cell phone out of someone’s hand during tonight’s incident.”

Further details on the arrest were reported by New Orleans’ NBC affiliate, WDSU.

“Saints Wide Receiver Michael Thomas was seen being taken away by police in Kenner, according to witnesses,” the report from WDSU’s Bun Choum said. “Friday night a WDSU viewer called in reporting heavy police presence in the Gabriel subdivision where Thomas resides…WDSU spoke exclusively with a man who says Thomas threw a brick at his truck and pushed him.”

As of the time of this writing, it’s unclear if this incident will have any affect on whether Thomas can play on Sunday against the Vikings.
