The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have won this week, defeating the New Orleans Saints by lopsided score of 26-9, but they suffered a little bit of a concerning situation when star wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a leg injury. But it does not appear that the injury is very serious.

On Tuesday morning, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that Mike Evans suffered just a “mild” hamstring injury and likely expected to return following the team’s bye week next weekend.

“Belief is #Bucs WR Mike Evans has a mild hamstring injury from Sunday, per sources, which bodes well for his return post-bye, but he’ll undergo an MRI today to confirm,” Fowler reported on Tuesday with a post on X, the social media website that is formerly known as Twitter.

It’s pretty big news for the team’s top receiver, and the NFL world had plenty to say about this injury announcement on social media.

Evans has recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first nine seasons in the league and is trying to set a new NFL record for the most consecutive seasons with 1,000 receiving yards. But in order for him to do that, he’ll have to remain healthy.
