The Minnesota Vikings are hoping that rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison can make a big impact in his first NFL season. However, his career is not off to a good start when it comes to his off-field activities, being issued a citation after a reckless driving incident.
Reports emerged on Thursday that Addison was involved in a speeding incident early on Thursday morning.
Addison was reported issued a citation for speeding and reckless driving after reportedly being stopped by police for driving his Lamborghini at 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone,” according to a police report posted on social media by Ari Meirov.

Going nearly 100 MPH over the speed limit in any situation is obviously dangerous and concerning, and fans offered their opinion on this news on social media.

WOW: Jordan Addison was charged with reckless driving after driving 140 MPH in a 55.
The Minnesota Vikings moved on from Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook. There's 0 question that Jordan Addison is primed to breakout as a WR2 to Justin Jefferson. Hopefully he doesn't squander this.. pic.twitter.com/33MrxBBWr1

Fortunately, it was NOT alcohol related and there was NO car accident. Just a traffic stop. pic.twitter.com/HqPNACw89g

It's not impossible, but precedent suggests it's unlikely Jordan Addison gets suspended by the NFL or the Vikings. This is very different from the Ruggs incident in that there was no DUI or crash.
Still an extremely dumb mistake — hopefully one he learns from and never repeats.

It was ultimately determined that Addison was not under the influence of any substances at the time of the incident, and luckily nobody was hurt in the form of any crash.
Regardless, it is certainly a poor decision from Addison, who is expected to be a big part of the Vikings’ offense next season after the team traded away former Pro Bowl receiver Adam Thielen this offseason.
Hopefully this incident won’t put his playing time in jeopardy with the Vikings. We have seen this type of situation end up tragically before with former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs, so luckily nobody was harmed by his reckless behavior.
