New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees drew plenty of criticism on Wednesday after saying that he will “never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country,” in response to a question about Colin Kaepernick and NFL players kneeling during the national anthem.

Reaction continues to come in from all over the sports world, including Brees’ current and former Saints teammates, such as Michael Thomas (star wide receiver), Malcolm Jenkins (star safety), and Marques Colston (former star wide receiver).

And now, there are even “Fuck Drew Brees” chants breaking out during protests in the streets of New Orleans.

Drew Brees won a Super Bowl MVP and has set numerous NFL passing records while with the Saints. He was like a God-like figure in New Orleans entering Wednesday. So the fact that there are now “Fuck Drew Brees” chants in New Orleans says *a lot* about how angry his comments made the city that adored him just hours ago.
