The New Orleans Saints currently have a 5-6 record. If things don’t change in a hurry, the team could find itself missing the postseason once again this year. But it sounds like head coach Dennis Allen understands the sense of urgency the team is facing to get their season turned around before it’s too late.
During a press conference this week, Dennis Allen addressed the team’s recent struggles, making it clear how important it is for the team to start playing better if it’s going to make a playoff run.
“I think it is critically urgent,” Allen said. “I think the message to the team was ‘That’s unacceptable, we’ve got to be better.’ But just because we stand up here and we’re able to talk in a tone and in a way that doesn’t necessarily say that we understand the sense of urgency, I can certainly appreciate the question and I can appreciate the fans’ urgency and I can assure you that the people inside the building feel the same sense of urgency.”
Though the Saints do have a losing record, they are currently in a first-place tie with the Atlanta Falcons for the best record in the division, although the Falcons do own the tiebreaker after a win over the Saints this weekend.
