NFL Draft

A major odds shift occurred that might indicate the probable No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young acquired significant buzz when NFL Network reported he canceled his remaining pre-Draft visits. The guess is this is because the Carolina Panthers will draft Young No. 1 overall next Thursday. So because of that, the odds shifted heavily in Young’s favor.

Young, this morning, according to BetMGM, was -350 to go No. 1. As of their tweet this afternoon, Young was listed at -1000 odds to go first.

In other words, if you put $100 on Young this morning at -350, you would receive a payout of $28.57. Now though, at -3000 odds, bettors would only get a payout of $10.00 right now on a $100 bet on Young to go No. 1 overall.

So, the Panthers seem like they’re surely going to pick Bryce Young first overall next Thursday. Although pre-Draft concerns were raised about Young’s size, that might not deter Carolina when it’s all done and dusted.

Line movements are always a tricky thing to guesswork on. But a significant shift like that tells you all you need to know about what the oddsmakers think about his chances of going first in the NFL Draft. Should he do that? Well, you might know where you heard it first, and it wasn’t by any reporter.
