The NFL has fined the Denver Broncos’ Vic Fangio, the Seattle Seahawks’ Pete Carroll, and the San Francisco 49ers’ Kyle Shanahan $100,000 each for not wearing masks on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Additionally, each of their teams is fined $250,000, bringing the fine total to more than $1 million.

They may not be the only coaches fined in Week 2; Jon Gruden of the Las Vegas Raiders and Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints have had their masks off on Monday Night Football.

So, the NFL is clearly taking the mask-wearing very seriously amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be interesting to see if the fined coaches finally wear a mask in Week 3.

Update: Jon Gruden and Sean Payton were indeed fined, making it five coaches in Week 2.
