The NFL world is buzzing over Tuesday’s huge Trey Lance news from Dallas. This weekend, the Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers will renew their rivalry on the gridiron. It will have the ‘Sunday Night Football’ marquee and everything, and will probably have a massive audience. So, all eyes will be on the game. But the game within the game is already underway, and it will involve former 49ers quarterback Trey Lance if all indications out of Dallas are accurate.

On Monday, Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer claimed that the team plans to ‘pick Lance’s brain,’ so to speak. Lance, of course, came to the Cowboys from the 49ers in an offseason trade. The Cowboys have utilized him as Dak Prescott’s backup, and now he will be used as a valuable asset.

“The Cowboys plan on learning all they can from Trey Lance ahead of their primetime clash with the 49ers,” the 49ers on NBCS account posted.

Schottenheimer told reporters via NBCS, “Trey knows a little bit about what they’re doing. The cool thing is, like I said, the [Cowboys] know them well, I know them well from being in Seattle, Trey knows them well. Like last week, it’s kind of in good fun and humor.”

Granted, this is a very common practice around the league. Business is business and the game is the game. We will have to see if anything Lance may offer them helps influence the decision or not.

The NFL world reacted to the news on Trey Lance, the Cowboys, and the 49ers and had plenty to say.
