While the city of Charlotte has been celebrating the Carolina Panthers drafting Bryce Young first overall, not everyone was happy with that pick. Panthers quarterback Matt Corral was seemingly not pleased with Young coming to the team.
Corral was drafted in the third round (94th overall) last year by the Panthers, following his college career with the Ole Miss Rebels. But injuries kept him on the bench in 2022, and instead of giving him the opportunity to start this season, the Panthers drafted Young.
That lead to Corral making quite the post on Instagram Thursday after the Panthers’ selection of Young.

“I wanted to let you know that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place. If you are not appreciated, do not be angry,” the first half of Corral’s post read.
“That means you are in the wrong place,” the post continued. “Don’t stay in a place where no one sees your value.”
Sounds like Corral has already made up his mind that he wants out of Carolina now that Young has arrived.
When asked about the cryptic message, Carolina head coach Frank Reich said “The message to all to the players is that we earn it on the field.”
Reich also said he didn’t see the post, and didn’t overreact when he heard about it.
It’s not like Corral didn’t see the handwriting on the wall. There was no way the Panthers were going to pass up a generational talent like Young, especially with the recent history of Corral’s injuries.
Corral later took down the post.
Panthers QB Matt Corral made an Instagram post suggesting he didn't feel wanted by the Panthers after the Bryce Young selection (He later deleted the post.)
I asked Frank Reich what his message is to Corral and other players who seemingly see their replacement drafted.
