Patrick Mahomes is definitively the best quarterback in the NFL. Over the last five seasons, Mahomes has won two NFL MVP Awards, and that’s where it all starts. The superstar Kansas City Chiefs QB has won two Super Bowls, two Super Bowl MVP Awards, the NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award, and is already a five-time Pro Bowler. So the question isn’t “Will Patrick Mahomes be paid more soon?” but rather, “How much will the two-time Super Bowl MVP make on his next contract?”

Mahomes appeared to send a message to the team on what he thinks about that very topic.

“It’s more of a, you just want to do whatever it, not to hurt other quarterbacks whenever their contracts come up. You want to kind of keep the bar pushing. It’s not about being the highest-paid guy,” Mahomes said via NFL.com. “It’s not about making a ton of money. I’ve made enough money where I’ll be set for the rest of my life.”

Mahomes continued. “At the same time, you gotta find that line where you’re making a good amount of money, but you’re still keeping a lot of great players around you so you can win these Super Bowls, and you’re able to compete in these games,” the superstar QB said.

While you can likely expect a massive payday for Patrick Mahomes when it comes time for that, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be too stringent on it. Mahomes wants to win and will do what it takes to win, even if that means taking less money. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow recently voiced a similar opinion, as did his teammates, after Burrow discussed his upcoming new contract.
