It’s not often that teams are able to overcome double-digit deficits in the Super Bowl. In fact, throughout the 58 Super Bowl showdowns, a team has only been able to pull off a double-digit comeback victory seven times. But with Patrick Mahomes as their starter, the Kansas City Chiefs have done it an absolutely staggering number of times recently.
As Fox Sports NFL pointed out on social media this week, every single one of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victories with Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback has come as a result of a double-digit comeback.
“There have only been 7 double digit comebacks in Super Bowl history. Patrick Mahomes has 3 of them,” Fox Sports NFL said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This is obviously some pretty insane news, given that Mahomes has been responsible for more than 40 percent of the double-digit comebacks in Super Bowl history, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

Mahomes has been down 10+ eleven times in the postseason. He’s taken the lead back ten times. https://t.co/f7Rg1bQgCh

Mahomes has 3, Brady has 2 (SEA/ATL).
So the rest of the NFL – in 50+ years – has 2 combined? Pretty crazy. https://t.co/TxJnPZnwpl

Crazy that the worst thing you can do if you wanna win the super bowl is be winning by 10 points against the Chiefs with Mahomes as our QB. https://t.co/9F95SllZmE

Mahomes has made quite a lot of NFL history throughout his six seasons in the league, and he’s on pace to be considered arguably the greatest quarterback of all time by the time he’s done.
