Patrick Mahomes Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Over the weekend, Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and will now face felony charges and potential prison time as a repeat offender. But despite the charges, it sounds like he will still be able to attend Super Bowl LVIII in support of his son.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Patrick Mahomes Sr. was not given a travel ban as part of the terms of his bond agreement.

“Judge James Meredith — who handled the case in Smith County, Texas on Sunday following Mahomes Sr.’s DWI arrest — tells us he didn’t impose any travel ban on the elder Mahomes as part of his bond conditions … paving the way for Dad to watch his son play in Las Vegas in SB LVIII,” TMZ Sports reported.

“Of course, it’s unclear if the Chiefs star will want him there now following the added distraction in the leadup to the Big Game … but, at least in the eyes of the law, Mahomes Sr. will be allowed to leave the state for it.”

Obviously, this is pretty significant news and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see whether or not he attends the game.
