TIME Magazine announced that they named Patrick Mahomes one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

The popular publication published its annual list to the usual fanfare on Thursday morning. TIME included Mahomes in its “TITANS” category, alongside names like Angela Bassett, Beyoncé, and Lionel Messi, among others.

Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning penned the Mahomes passage for the magazine.

“Patrick Mahomes once served as a counselor at the Manning Passing Academy, a summer football camp for high school players that my dad founded in 1996,” Manning wrote, as he explained how he learned a lot from how Mahomes treated young people at his camp, as well as his arm strength which “jumped out at you,” said the legendary QB.

“This won’t be the last time you hear Patrick Mahomes identified that way,” Manning assured.

Patrick Mahomes has accomplished a lot in his young NFL career. Since 2018, he’s led the Kansas City Chiefs to two Super Bowl titles, three Super Bowl appearances, and six consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances. Mahomes has won two NFL MVP awards and two Super Bowl MVP awards, as well. He continues to set the bar of excellence for quarterback play in the NFL.

His influence on the game and the fans is clearly apparent. TIME’s recognition for #15 in Kansas City should come as no surprise.

The sports world reacted to the announcement.
