Kenny Pickett was the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the majority of the 2023 NFL season before Mason Rudolph earned the role with a series of strong performances to end the season. But it sounds like some major changes could be coming to the team as the team is expected to target veteran free-agent quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

According to a tandem report from league insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo of NFL Media this week, fans should “expect significant changes at the position in Pittsburgh” with the “expectation” that the team could choose to bring in veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who is set to become a free agent in March after five seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

“With new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, the expectation is Pittsburgh will explore adding free agent Ryan Tannehill, who had his best years with the Titans while Smith was the OC there,” NFL Media reported on Sunday.

Obviously, this is some pretty significant news, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

We’ll have to see whether or not the Steelers and Tannehill are able to agree to a deal this offseason.
