The U.S. west coast is currently being slammed by a “bomb cyclone,” and that’s affected the Sunday Night Football game between the San Francisco 49ers (who currently play in Santa Clara, CA) and the visiting Indianapolis Colts. In particular, the 49ers’ fans’ tailgate saw some port-o-potties blown away:
I just arrived in Santa Clara and it is a sloppy mess – rain and 20mph winds. Fans at Levi’s Stadium are in for quite the ride – literally if you happen to be in a porta potty when the wind blows. 49ers vs Colts kicks off at 5:20pm. @kron4news #49ers pic.twitter.com/aGQG2H0wsi

The weather also led to issues for visiting media trying to get to the game, as illustrated by Colts’ beat writer Zak Keefer of The Athletic:
Santa Clara, CA — We’ve made it.
Lighter rain now but it’s expected to pick up. Heavy winds — will definitely impact the passing game tonight. pic.twitter.com/KP8mDuKPea

There were still plenty of fans who showed up to tailgate despite the weather, and there were still plenty of fans who made it to the game. But the weather here was certainly notable, and it definitely affected pre-game preparations. We’ll see what, if any, impact it has on the game itself.
