The Tennessee Titans decided to stick with veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill this season, but that decision did not appear to pay off during the team’s season-opening game against the New Orleans Saints as he had an absolutely brutal performance leading to a 16-15 loss.

During the game, Tannahill went just 16 for 34 through the air for 198 yards and three interceptions, failing to lead the offense to a single touchdown as the team had to settle for five different field goals. And he wasn’t happy with that performance after the game.

“I felt really good coming into the game — I felt healthy, I felt really good mentally, ready to roll,” Tannehill said according to the Tennessee Titans official team website. “I just didn’t come out and play well, obviously. I am not happy with the way I performed, and there’s a lot of room to grow there.”

Given that the Saints won the game by just one point, even a slightly better game from Tannehill could have helped push the Titans to victory on Sunday afternoon, but he simply didn’t have it.

We’ll have to see whether or not Tannehill can perform better later in the season, or if the Titans ever decide to give one of their younger quarterbacks a shot.
