Throughout his career and contract negotiations with the New York Giants, star running back Saquon Barkley has made it pretty clear that he would like to play his entire career with the New York Giants. But even throughout his tumultuous contract negotiations with the team, he claims that desire has not changed.

“Oh, yeah. I don’t think that really changed,’’ Saquon Barkley told Paul Schwartz of The New York Post at a promotional event Sunday. “They know how I feel. I’m not really too focused on that right now.’’

Barkley will be returning to the Giants on a one-year deal this season, and he’s made it pretty clear that he’s willing to put any bad blood behind him.

“Once I made the decision I was going to show up and I was going to be there and do my job, you’ve got to put all that aside,’’ Barkley said. “Got to be mature about it”

Barkley also said that the reason he’s avoided talking too much in the media is because he doesn’t necessarily want to talk about the whole contract situation. He just wants to put it behind him.

“I just felt the questions would continue to be about the tag or the money situation,” Barkley said. “It’s in the past. I can’t control that. I know I came out and tweeted ‘It is what it is’ and that’s what I truly felt at the moment.”
