In the age of social media, rumors of injuries fly around like there’s no tomorrow. As a result, it’s both easy for a rumor to get started about a player’s injury and incredible easy for said player to shoot it down too.

During the Washington Redskins’ 16-10 week 5 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, rookie linebacker Su’a Cravens was removed from the game after suffering a concussion.

After it was confirmed he had a concussion, Cravens hopped on Twitter to talk about one big side effect of the injury: glasses.

Cravens’ acknowledgement of needing glasses set off a firestorm on Twitter as fans assumed this meant Cravens had permanent eye damage.

This is where things get interesting and confusing.

What the big rumor was that came about from that announcement was that his permanent eye damage may affect his ability to play football. Well, that’s kind of true according to Cravens.

“Due to my concussion my eyes have lost the memory to keep track of moving objects, so I have to wear these for the rest of my life,” Cravens said in the video.

While it will impact Cravens’ eye sight and he has to always wear those glasses, it most likely won’t stop him from playing football.

As of now, the Redskins haven’t announced if the rookie will be available this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, or when exactly he’ll be back. However, it’s important to keep in mind players have played with glasses before and Cravens should be able to do it when he’s cleared to play.

But let’s go back to the idea that his eyes have “lost the memory to keep track of objects” and the fact that he has to wear glasses permanently now. That all sounds like permanent eye damage that makes Cravens look like a fictional wizard.

However, CSN Mid-Atlantic is reporting a source close to the situation says the idea that Cravens has permanent eye damage has “zero truth to it.”

So who should people believe? Cravens after attending the doctor? Or the random source that spoke with NBC Sports? This is confusing.

Well Cravens made it get more confusing on his Twitter account later on. According to CBS Washington, Cravens retweeted JP Finlay from CSN Mid-Atlantic and his report that cited the source stating Cravens doesn’t have permanent eye damage.

Here’s the tricky part, Cravens un-retweeted that. Either Cravens like messing with people’s heads or also has no idea what’s going on with his eyeballs. To be continued.
