Last week, the Tennessee Titans made the decision to release longtime offensive lineman Taylor Lewan to free up some cap space. While the decision was expected and there seemed to be no hard feelings, there might be after the way the Titans treated Lewan’s stuff.
On Tuesday, Taylor Lewan shared a photo on his Twitter account showing how the Titans delivered his stuff from his house after the decision to cut him. All of his belongings were simply stuffed in trash bags and left at what appeared to be his front door.
“Shout out to the @Titans dropping my stuff off today. They even let me keep the shoulder pads,” Lewan said in a tweet.

It was certainly a wild way for a team to treat a longtime veteran who made three different Pro Bowls with the team, and the NFL world had plenty to say about the shocking photo on Twitter.

Not to be too forward, but there could be a RING in the next set of garbage bags an NFL franchise leaves on your doorstep in disrespectful fashion…#ChiefsKingdom https://t.co/Dfe5GknZMg

To be fair, I am sure there were multiple opportunities to clear the locker out over the last few months. https://t.co/83Qc1GcGdt

It’s not clear what Lewan will do next with his career – whether he will retire, return to the Titans for a pay cut, or sign with a different NFL team. But if he didn’t want to return to the Titans after the way they treated his stuff, it would be hard to blame him.
