Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater reportedly suffered a non-contact injury in practice on Tuesday, and judging by the Twittersphere’s initial reaction, it does not look good. Bridgewater was escorted off the field by ambulance after reports say he appeared to injure his left knee in a non-contact drill early in practice.

Vikings reporters shared some of the early scenes on Twitter, stating Bridgewater went down with what looked to be a non-contact injury. This led to teammates slamming their helmets, apparently in frustration over the injury to the franchise quarterback, and to the Vikings closing up practice early for the day.

With the NFL’s preseason winding down, taking every precaution possible to keep players as healthy as possible is necessary around NFL training camps and practices, but some injuries simply cannot be foreshadowed or prevented, and it would appear that is the case here with Bridgewater and the Vikings.

If the Vikings do have to move forward without Bridgewater for whatever amount of time, the offense will likely be turned over to either Shaun Hill or Joel Stave. The odds are probably good Hill would get the nod first if needed.

The Vikings are expected to have a press conference later today to update the situation on Bridgewater.

UPDATE: Devastating news for Teddy Bridgewater and the Vikings, as he has suffered a dislocated knee and torn ACL. Obviously this will end his season and now puts his 2017 status into question as well.
