Entering his team’s Week 8 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins found himself the subject of trade speculation.

The three-time first-team All-Pro responded with his best performance yet in Tennessee, catching four passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns in what was a 28-23 Titans victory.

After his standout performance, the 31-year-old Hopkins took to social media to send a clear message to his skeptics.

“One, two, three,” Hopkins said, referencing his touchdown total on Sunday. “They wrote me off. I feel like Geno.”

The Clemson product’s comments were a reference to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, who said, “They wrote me off, I ain’t write back though” following his team’s season-opening win over the Denver Broncos in 2022.

A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Hopkins signed a two-year contract with the Titans this past offseason after being released by the Arizona Cardinals following three seasons with the franchise. Through his first six games with Tennessee, the former Houston Texans star had topped the 100-yard mark just once and had yet to score his first touchdown as a Titan.

That all changed on Sunday, however, as rookie Will Levis got his first career start with Ryan Tannehill missing the game due to an ankle injury. The Kentucky product had a stellar debut, completing 19 of his 29 pass attempts for 238 yards and four touchdowns — three of which were caught by Tennessee’s star wide receiver.
