On Wednesday morning, Cleveland Browns fans were hit with some pretty horrible news on Wednesday morning when the team announced that star quarterback Deshaun Watson will miss the remainder of the NFL season after suffering a shoulder injury during this week’s win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Deshaun Watson suffered the injury during Sunday’s game. Though he finished the game, team doctors and specialists determined that the injury “will require immediate surgical repair to avoid structural damage,” sidelining Watson for the remainder of the season.

Browns fans seemed to quickly come together with a pretty clear answer for what the Browns should try to do to replace their injured quarterback in the midst of an otherwise successful season: call Tom Brady.

Tom Brady, of course, retired from the NFL following last season. But he came out of retirement once already, and now a bunch of Cleveland Browns fans are calling for him to do it once again.

It’s understandable why the Browns would want to turn to the seven-time Super Bowl champion, but it’s worth noting that Brady had other chances this season to potentially come out of retirement if he wanted to – for example, to replace the injured Kirk Cousins for the Minnesota Vikings – but he’s chosen to remain retired.

Browns fans can dream, but it’s not very likely Brady will be coming out of retirement for them, either.
