This week, an article on Vanity Fair was released containing some extremely candid quotes from Gisele Bündchen as she broke her silence about the very public divorce from her now ex-husband Tom Brady. And it seems like Brady might have sent a subtle message to her in response.

In the interview with Vanity Fair, Gisele opened up about her divorce from Tom Brady, revealing that they were growing apart long before Brady’s decision to unretire last year and that the decision was for a variety of reasons.

Gisele did not say anything particularly cruel about Brady in the interview, but that didn’t stop him from posting a rather cryptic quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson on his Instagram stories that discussed enduring the “betrayal of false friends.”

Here’s what the full post read, according to a screenshot obtained by Page Six:

“What is success? To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate the beauty; to find best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!”

There’s no way to prove the quote was about Gisele, but the timing was certainly suspicious.
