While Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady might have a lot on his plate right now given his marriage struggles that appear to be culminating in divorce as well as his focus on his team during football season, that isn’t stopping him from dedicating his efforts to quite a unique business venture.

According to Front Office Sports, Brady is part of a group that is buying a Major League Pickleball expansion team alongside six-time tennis Grand Slam champion Kim Clijsters.

“BREAKING: @TomBrady and @Clijsterskim are headlining a group to buy a Major League Pickleball expansion team. The team will be a part of MLP’s expanded 16-team league in 2023,” Front Office Sports said in a Tweet on Wednesday.

Brady and Clijsters’ new team will be joining the league as it expands from its current 12 teams to 16 teams by next season.

It’s definitely some big and surprising news, and the sports world had plenty to say about it as a result.

Brady is certainly not the first future Pro Football Hall of Famer to purchase a Major League Pickleball team. Former NFL quarterback Drew Brees is a co-owner of the Mad Drops Pickleball Club. Additionally, NBA stars LeBron James, Kevin Love and Draymond Green are each invested in professional pickleball teams.
