Justin Jefferson’s hamstring injury could sideline the wide receiver from four to six weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter, citing sources, added the Minnesota Vikings star will undergo imaging tests in four weeks to help determine the timeline for his return.

Jefferson was placed on injured reserve Wednesday after suffering the injury in Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He exited early in the fourth quarter.

This type of injury can be a finicky one.

“With hamstrings, I don’t want to speculate on exactly when it will be,” Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said Wednesday. “But I know he feels pretty good considering where some guys feel at this point in the process, having been [injured] just this past Sunday. It’s just going to be about all that entails to go through the process to where he can have some time to start feeling like he can be at full speed again, as explosive as he is, and that will be a process he’ll work through, and hopefully we can get that window opened and we’ll see where he’s at.”

The good news is, O’Connell said he doesn’t anticipate the All-Pro will miss the rest of the season and that Jefferson is feeling OK, all things considered.

Jefferson has 36 catches for 571 yards and three touchdowns in five games on the season.
