After starting most of the games for the New York Jets this season following the season-ending injury to Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson will not have the chance to start the season finale as he is still in concussion protocol, meaning his career with the Jets could be coming to a close. But regardless of where he ends up, it sounds like Jets coach Robert Saleh still believes in him.
During his press conference this week, Robert Saleh was asked about the potential future of Zach Wilson with the team. And he while he wouldn’t commit to bringing Wilson back next year, he did say that he thinks Wilson will have a “long career” wherever he ends up.
“We’ll see, it’s all things that we’re going to have to talk about once the season’s over, but whether it’s here or somewhere else, I believe he’s going to have a hell of a year or career,” Saleh said according to Pro Football Talk.
Since he was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Jets, Wilson has had many opportunities to prove he can be a viable starter in the NFL but none of them have necessarily gone well.
We’ll have to see if he gets another chance either with the Jets or elsewhere.
