When the New York Jets selected former BYU Cougars star quarterback Zach Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, they likely expected him to be their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. But after an absolutely abysmal performance on Thursday night that saw him benched by his head coach and booed by his own fans, it’s becoming more and more clear that he’s turning out to be a complete bust. And one shocking stat highlights that fact.

As NFL reporter Dov Kleiman pointed out on Twitter, Zach Wilson has a career off-target rate that’s worse than any quarterback in the last decade.

“Zach Wilson’s career off-target rate is the worst of any QB in the last decade. It appears the #Jets drafted a mega-bust with the 2nd overall pick of the 2021 Draft,” Kleiman said in a Tweet on Friday morning.

It’s certainly bad news for the New York Jets after wasting the No. 2 overall pick of the 2021 NFL DRaft on Wilson, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it.

“I’ve could’ve told you that this guy was going to bust out of the league when they drafted him,” one fan said on Twitter.

“What did he do at BYU that made these scouts say he was the 2nd best player in the draft 😂 u can’t even hide the political game these folks play,” another fan said on Twitter.

“I really feel like this team is cursed cuz we got all this talent but never can get a long term answer @ QB. @RealJoeNamath we need answers from you my guy!! What did you do?” another fan said on Twitter.

It’s not looking good for Wilson’s career.
