Matt Duchene wasn’t ready to leave Ryan Dzingel behind.

On Friday, the Columbus Blue Jackets acquired Duchene from the Ottawa Senators in a blockbuster move to bolster their playoff push.

And while he was flying back to Ottawa to pick up his family, the Jackets swung another deal with the Sens, bringing in Dzingel. On a private jet back to Ohio, Duchene picked up his family, his dog, and his new/old teammate.

Duchene posted a picture on Instagram of his young baby, his pup, and Dzingel, joking he was bringing all three of his kids to Columbus.

Don’t tell me Dzingel isn’t absolutely thrilled to be in this picture.

Both players must be thrilled to get out of a tense situation with the last place Senators and go to a Blue Jackets team ready to make a playoff push. Columbus is just one point up on the Carolina Hurricanes for third place in the Metro. Adding Duchene and Dzingel, both of whom are skilled offensive players, will go a long way for the team’s chances at qualifying.

The two clearly get along and will surely help each other navigate their way with the Blue Jackets. Kudos to Duchene for giving Dzingel a lift.
