Donald Trump Ken Ruinard-USA TODAY Sports

Former United States President Donald Trump is running for office once again and will likely be meeting current President Joe Biden on the debate floor. But it sounds like one prominent ESPN host wishes that he had a crack at debating Trump.

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday morning, Stephen A. Smith revealed that he wants to debate Donald Trump, saying that he would “eat him alive.”

“Obviously, I have my show First Take on ESPN every weekday morning,” Smith told Stern. “I would love to be in a presidential debate. I’d eat him alive. I wouldn’t run for the presidency, but I’d debate Trump any day of the week. Any day of the week! Name the time and place and I’ll show up!”

Smith is obviously well-versed in debates, even if his center more around sports. As a result, he thinks he’d be able to handle a debate with Trump.

“Do you know what I would do if I was on the stage with Trump and Trump tried to talk about the way that I look?” Smith continued to Stern. “Do you know how much material I would have? Look at him. Are you kidding me? I marvel at how people have limited comebacks for him. Jeb Bush, ‘low energy,’ no comeback. Marco Rubio, ‘little Marco,’ no comeback.”

Obviously, this suggestion from Smith got quite a few reactions on social media.

It’s unlikely that Smith will get this chance, but it would certainly be interesting.
